Another is by coding the social media buttons into any theme that you want. This method is a bit advanced and requires coding knowledge.

Here are the steps you need to follow for the first method-

  1. Go to Shopify and log into your store.
  2. In the admin dashboard, scroll down to the left sidebar and click on Online Store.
  3. It will launch the themes page for your online store and show you the different themes you have. Select the one you're working with and click Customize.
  4. It will send you to an edit page. Top of the left sidebar, you will find Theme Settings. Click on it.
  5. You will see a bunch of options in the left sidebar such as colors, typography, search, social media etc. Click on Social Media.
  6. It will open a new sidebar on the left. Scroll down to find the Social Accounts heading. Underneath there will be options to paste links of your page for different social media platforms.
  7. Now go to each of your pages in different social media that you want to link to your Shopify store. Copy their URLs.
  8. Paste the URLs into sections specified according to social media in your Shopify sidebar. You can also type the URL in yourself if you want.
  9. After adding the links here, scroll down to the bottom right and you will see the social media icons appearing at the bottom right.
  10. Click on Save to save changes.

If you choose to have customized social icons and do it by code, here's what you will need to do-

  1. In your dashboard, click on Themes under the Online Store heading.
  2. Choose the theme you are working with, tap on Actions and click on Edit code in the drop down menu.
  3. Click on Assets.
  4. Click on Add a New Asset.
  5. Select the file containing the icon from your computer, then click on Upload Asset.
  6. Now that the icon is uploaded, the next thing to do is to link the button to your social media page. You'll have to code it in.
  7. Click on theme.liquid, it will open the code editor.
  8. Now where the social media buttons will appear in your Shopify page depends on where you put this bit of code in. Go over the code to find your desired location.
  9. When you are done, click Save to save the changes made.
